Reflection
It seems like we have just started this online session, when it is time to submit the final issue. Among all of the session I have gained a lot of useful information&skills - more than I have expected in the beginning, however, there is this one skill that was the most rewarding for me since it all started. I was never very good with computers - all I basically new was how to access the internet, Microsoft Office stuff, and printing&scanning the documents. Through this program I finally started to understand that there is much more than I have already known! Above all, I have gained patience in order to finish each of the online session. I am really glad and thankful now to all of the GNML employers, because this skill - almost unlimited patience, would be definitely something to apply in the future. Moreover, I am happy to realize that this online course has actually taught me something I always needed, even if I never suspected that I did.
The most challenging part for me was embedding the Twitter, Instagram etc to my personal blog. Truth be told, only on the ninth session I found out that I was embedding it wrong, actually, didn't embed it at all! I have watched videos about it dozens of time, however, I still could't figure out how to do it. I was in depths of despair. Then, suddenly, I just let the whole situation go and started to think myself, without following the steps I was supposed to follow. The moment that I started to understand what I was doing, I got it done pretty easily! The moral of this fable is: don't just follow the example of everybody else, think for yourself! This quality applies in our modern world so much...
The most important single thing that I learned is a knowledge about the power of connection. Now I understand that all your web-pages can be connected to your blog, it is so simple and comfortable! I truly adore this skill:)
Embeds:
The Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube feeds are embedded on my blog :)
Links:
All links are available on the individual posts. Enjoy!
Final Reflection:
Blogger: Blogger is now one of my favorite web-sites, because the one can not only post different stories, but also embed all the other web-sites on it. It is an awesome tool, and for my GNML I can use it by promoting my ideas, finding the volunteer team, and spreading the information to my other web-pages. :)
Twitter: I enjoy posting on Twitter, because the posts are short, you can read them easily and you can attach links that everybody can see. You know, like in the blogger, when the post is really long, not everybody would go to a link after it to read MORE information, but on Twitter, it is fast and simple. I can use it for my campaign to put the most important ideas and future events as well as posting links for the articles that my RSS sends me. :)
YouTube: I believe YouTube is a great tool for those people who want to get the entire picture of an issue, both to listen and to see. I was impressed, because in a very short time my video has watched over sixty people, and that means that sixty more people has found out about my campaign. In the future, I would use it for promoting and encouraging people to join my team! :)
Instagram: Out of all sites listed above, Instagram is my favorite. I am keen on photography and being able to post pictures of what you are doing and realizing the power of a hash-tag has given me a total love for this web-site. I am sure I would keep using it to post more pictures of kids&nature&volunteering and spread my ideas all over the world! :)
LinkedIn: LinkedIn is an awesome tool to find a job, or any opportunity to work or volunteer. I can already say it will be very useful once we graduate from school! I can use LinkedIn to find the people who are eager to support me and people who would like to work with me together to make a difference in this world! :)
I have honestly enjoyed my experience with GNML, it toughed me A LOT of useful hints and, even though I am not going to Vermont, I have gained a great experience I would use in the future and I would keep working on my SocialMedia4SocialChange campaign! Thank you GNML for this session! I will miss it :)
